A day-long event titled ‘Career Cruise 2.0’ was held at Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET) on Wednesday. The event was inaugurated by Professor Dr. S M Abdur Razzak, Vice-Chancellor of RUET. It was organized by the Society of Process Engineering, RUET (SPER), a student organization under the Department of Chemical Engineering.
In his speech as the chief guest, Professor Dr. S M Abdur Razzak said, 'Such initiatives are assisting our students in choosing the right career path. Renowned companies come here in search of skilled professionals and collect CVs directly from students. As a result, graduates don’t have to wait long for employment after completing their academic degrees.'
The event was presided over by Dr. Mohammad Nurur Rahman, Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering. Special guests included Professor Dr. Md. Nurul Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering; Arif Ahammad Chowdhury, Acting Registrar; and Professor Dr. Md. Rabiul Islam Sarker, Director of Students' Welfare. Faculty members and students from the respective departments were also in attendance.
It is worth mentioning that a total of six reputed organizations participated in the Career Cruise. RUET students had the opportunity to submit their CVs directly to these companies. The companies will then review the CVs and select suitable candidates for recruitment based on their qualifications.
